Two multiple events
which blend together, integrating themselves and developing
in several initiatives, each one representing an event
in itself. Every single one, regarded in its peculiarity,
characterized by an excellent cultural, artistic and
spectacular level.
Mission and Aims
The communicative message the socio-cultural initiative
intends to popularize is to recognize and let people
know the “Culture of Salento”, made of history,
art, tastes, men and traditions.
The event certainly coincides with an effective instrument
of territorial marketing, promotion and improvement
of the heritage and the resources of Salento, managing
to combine culture, art and spectacle with tourism,
valorization of cultural goods and productive activities
of the area. Moreover it gives prestige to whom have
represented an added value for the land of Salento,
having in actual fact contributed to its development.
Honour Award
The recognition is set up in order to turn the human,
intellectual and productive energies of Salento to better
account.
Every year it is assigned to those people from Salento
who have particularly distinguished themselves by their
commitment, inventiveness, spirit of enterprise and
by the results of their research in the fields of politics,
literature, science, economics and art.
Particular awards may be furthermore assigned to people
from Salento, both resident or emigrated, or to people
that originally came from other places who have anyhow
acted in order to propose Salento, its culture and its
needs to the national and international attention or
alternatively to people from Salento who have become
outstanding figures due to their personal activity and
industriousness.
Acknowledgments are also foreseen for evidences of national
and international collaboration/cooperation of peculiar
interest for our territory.
Week of the Culture
It directly takes up the people operating in the diverse
(socio-cultural, artistic, economic and productive)
fields of activities involved, together with the numerous
guests representing the different branches of culture,
art and spectacle who for seven days will tread the
stage proposing ideas and exhibitions which always meet
with great approval, which draw and involve a highly
motivated and large audience, symbolizing different
ages and social segments, people coming from Salento
as well as foreigners, always numerous in a period which
sees the town and the province crowded with tourists.
Promotion and Opportunities
By means of the “Il Sallentino” award will
be involved both national and international leading
personalities, while the “Week” sections
will offer the best promises of our territory, together
with better and well-known, established professionals,
working also abroad.
This will establish an important interaction among the
various categories involved, and thus, an extraordinary
vehicle of promotion for the emerging resources and
the young talents of our land.
